LMCHK Society
The Medical Licentiate Society of Hong Kong (香港執照醫生醫學會) is an independent, non-profit recognized professional body comprised of the LMCHK doctors (Licentiates of the Medical Council of Hong Kong).
The Licentiate Society was founded as an association to support and represent the LMCHK community and to engage with the public and other medical professionals both within and outside of Hong Kong.
The Licentiate Society is the only incorporated entity (HK Certificate No. 2896589) dedicated to the LMCHK community.

Purpose
- Promote the highest standards of healthcare, professionalism, safety, and education.
- Endorse public education and engagement.
- Encourage working with other medical practitioners and doctors and community organizations in realizing it objectives.
- Nurture the needs of the LMCHK community through social events and medical education.
- Represent the LMCHK community’s interests in and outside of Hong Kong.
- Support the efforts of candidates sitting for the Hong Kong Medical Licensing Exam (HKMLE).
Structure
The composition of the Licentiate Society includes:
Council – the governing body of the medical society, who serve as its board of directors and consists of 9 Council Members.
Members – there are 4 classes of members: Full, Associate, Honorary, and Corporate.
Committees - there are 3 committees: Member Services, Medical Education, and Industry Relations. Members interested in becoming more involved are encouraged to participate.
History of the Society of the LMCHK Community
The Medical Licentiate Society of Hong Kong (Licentiate Society) is an independent, non-profit, recognized professional association that supports the LMCHK doctors.
The Licentiate Society was founded on 15 June 2017. As its community grew in size and offerings, the group incorporated on 26 November 2019.
After incorporation as a company limited by guarantee (non-profit organization), the Licentiate Society established its office. As of 9 June 2022, the new office and expanded support staff are located in Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
The Society first featured its characteristic logo at a launch event on 28 December 2019.
Diversity
The group has LMCHK doctors that graduated from medical schools from over 20 different licensing jurisdictions outside of Hong Kong including (in order by relative numbers of doctors): UK, Mainland China, Australia, Ireland, USA, India, Canada, New Zealand, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, South Africa, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Korea, Nepal, Netherland-Antilles, Portugal, Singapore, Turkey, and Venezuela.
